I had been on Letrozole for almost 10 years - started on Tamox for a few months before switching. Anyway at my last Onc appt he did not collect blood for chem profile or tumor markers. (I had a spike last year.) These were labs which I had done for each prior visit. I've also been dx with Osteopenia for 8 years and have been given twice yearly infusion of Zometa and then 2 years ago switched to Prolia injection. My visit are always very SHORT like a revolving door. When we discussed my stopping Letrozole now - he immediately discharged me on his computer to my GP. I felt like he couldn't get me out the door any faster. There was NO conversation about my health concerns and I had to stop him to ask about my future Prolia injections. He said to go to the hospital. I told him NO - why can't I simply stop by this office and get them? He said OK and I got my Prolia at that visit and have another scheduled for this summer. I am so tired of having to stay on top of medical news and fight to be my own patient advocate. So I'm curious how any of you ended your last oncologist visit. BTW - He NEVER ordered Vitamin D levels on me which IMO is basic breast cancer care. I always had to ASK my GP or Nutritionist to order one for me.
