Warm app for Cancer Patients: Design Research

Hi,

My name is Mikael. I am a designer passionate about health and technology. I design tools that aim to improve the wellbeing of patients.

The moderators of this forum have given me permission to post my request.

I am trying to connect with people who are interested in my project and want to participate in designing by sharing their experience.

I am currently working on 'Warm' which is a free app that helps cancer patients communicate.

With it, I try to offer solutions that make the task of sharing news with loved ones easier.

It has 3 tools:

• A calendar where patients can share important dates with their loved ones.
• A messaging app which helps people manage their conversations.
• A community where patients can connect with carers and people with similar experiences.

This project is important to me because, like many others, I have a family member who is fighting cancer.

I am taking action by building an app for families separated by long distance to feel closer in difficult times.

To improve my design I would like to:

1. Ask questions about patient communication:

• Do you have difficulties communicating with your family and friends during your treatment?
• How do you let your family know about the important events during your treatment?
• Who are the people who follow you most regularly?
• What is your favourite way to contact close friends and family?

2. Ask your opinions about the interactive prototype I designed.

I only intend to gather these insights and feedback to improve the design of the app.

Respecting patient privacy is my number one concern therefore I will not share any information unless you agree to it.
