Hi there,

I have a lump (approx. 1.3 cm) that is being biopsied on Monday. I am experiencing pain in the area of the lump, just wondering if anyone else experienced any pain. As an FYI: an excerpt from the US report reads "This lesion has a bllobed appearance with the.larger of the components measuring 6x 6 mm In size and the smaller adjacent component measuring 7 X 5X 5 mm. The overall long and short dimensions of this bilobed lesion are approximately 13 x 7.5 mm . The larger of the components of the bllobed lesion demonstrates a dimension is somewhat taller than it Is wide. There Is some shadowing behind this component and demonstrates some atypical features". BiRADS = 4a

Thank you

    Hello GG31,

I had pain in and around my lump and still continue to have pains in the area. I was a BiRADS 5 and was just diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. I have heard both there is no pain with cancer and there is/can be pain. I think we are all different.

Here's to good thoughts that your's will be benign. Hoping that you have peace in the waiting time.

But most breast pain is hormonal & fibrocystic & GG31's 4a is a very low level of suspicion. Only about a 3-10% likelihood of being cancer

Thank you KBT and MelissaDall very much for the replies. Will post again when the biopsy results are received and hopefully this is just an angry lump and nothing more....

That's how I found my mlump, I rolled over in bead one night, and it felt like something stung me. a lump inside that hurt when felt. I have diabetic neuropathy, so my hands are quite numb and didn't find it sooner. turned out to be a stage 4 breast cancer. I DONT KNOW IF IT HURTS NOW, I HAD A MASTECTOMY 2 WEEKS LATER. get it checked now, the sooner you find out if its cancer, the better the prognosis for getting rid of it.

    hi there

I had a lump that first appeared with pain & red rash that then went away and came back a few weeks later. I had further pain pretty much continuously on / off until diagnosis & surgery. I know that Following a biopsy they do say you can get pain so it could well be nothing sinister at all and totally benign. I know the waiting is awful but try to to keep busy and stay positive with good people around you .. I really hope all the best for you.

I have had many painful lumps that so far have all turned out to be benign cysts (except for one that is solid and i am having excised on march 2, though the surgeon does not think it is cancer)

Cysts can be very painful. Twice I ended up in urgent care cause I couldn't wait for the several days until doc office could see me. The pain can be from a cyst (or other benign lump) itself pushing on a nerve or the tissue around it pushing on a nerve. The pain can be from an infection/abscess (can happen even if not lactating!)

Good you are having it checked out to be sure. If it does turn out to be something it's good you are having it talent care of.
