Fight Songs----a bit off topic
A very good friend of mine who has the most incredible heart has been diagnosed with MS. He is in his thirties and a single dad with a 3 year old daughter. I want to buy a shuffle and put some "fight songs" on it and give it to him....something to listen to as he runs/works out.
I wonder if anyone could recommend a play list? Did you have a fight song that got you through tough moments?
My most favorite: Rodney Atkins 'If you are going through hell"
I would crank this up so loud and it would get me back in the game;)
Would you girls/guys give me some of yours?

-
Overcomer is a great one! I love this thread and all the fight songs!
-
Time for me to Fly- REO Speedwagon
Into the Mystic- Van Morrison
-
On my way to chemo I listened to Time of Dying by Three Days Grace. Bob Marley's Three Little Birds might be good for your friend.
-
on days when I am in pain or feeling sorry for myself I listen to "The Battle of Yorktown " from the Hamilton soundtrack. Specifically the Hercules mulligan part, when he says , " we in the s*** now, somebody's gotta shovel it. I'm Hercules Mullugan, I need no introduction; when you knock me down I get the f*** back up again"
It reminds me who I am.
-
I love that Herculesmulligan...........for all the rock stars on this site..... I hope it reminds us all of who we are......

Can't no body do me like Jesus by Andre Crouch. The Lyric goes like this

"My Shot," as long as we're talking Hamilton. (Fantastic show--even my husband who hates rap loved it).
"No Surrender" by Bruce Springsteen ca. 1984. (Subject matter is different--but I love the refrain "We made a promise we swore we'd always remember: no retreat, baby, no surrender"). And speaking of the Boss, "Badlands," for its classic lines "It ain't no sin to be glad you're alive" and "Keep pushin' till it's understood that these Badlands are treatin' us good." And Bonnie Raitt's "I Will Not be Broken."
Speaking of Broadway: "And I Am Telling You I Am Not Going," "Stick it to the Man," "You'll Never Walk Alone," and "Climb Every Mountain."
-
Six years later, I still cry every time I watch "Overcomer"!
-
-
Well you can't help but put cancer thoughts on the back burner with a little Bruno Mars........Loved Loved the video TectonicShift......not sure how I hadn't seen that one.....and you're right....must have taken forever to put it together.
