Auxiliary Node Dissection vs no Auxiliary Dissection

Although I am really having a tough time completely understanding pathology on lymph nodes, what I've been told is that the 2 sentinel nodes they took are full or overflowing with cancer, and it's a grade 3. Surgeon wants to remove nodes after chemo (May 2), and I am now indecisive whether to have the surgery or not? She tells me likely a 40% chance more nodes are positive. Now, I am wondering what all the chemo and radiation is for?...and also I guess I just don't want another surgery, but feel I likely should have it. For anyone that has had this done, how are you now, how were you after surgery and any other thoughts?...and I'm also worried about lymphedema of course and the long term effects. Is there any scans or would a MRI show anything in the lymph nodes?
