subareolar excisional biopsy with nipple damage

Sorry I have this under two different topics. Mods please feel free to remove the one if I choose the wrong topic heading.

My nipple started inverting back in late September. Serosanginous discharge recently developed too. 10 weeks after my BiRads 4 ultrasound depicting masses in the subnipple/areola region was found, I finally had my excisional surgical biopsy today. The surgeon said one of the masses extended up into my nipple and that my nipple was somehow damaged while the tumor was being excised. He tried to repair it but he was very vague regarding what happened and how he attempted to repair it. Of course I can't see it yet. I'm still in a binder corset with gauze dressing underneath.

Has anyone else had subareolar intraductal tumors that extended up into the nipple? What pathology came back?

3-5 business days to wait now before my path report comes.back. I'm pretty nervous.
