Need Radiation?

HI Everyone! I am still in the middle of chemo, TNBC, I have the BARD1 gene mutation...I am in the middle of chemo now, I just met with my BS friday and we decided I am doing a BMX due to the gene mutation (my tumor has almost completely shrunk from chemo so far)...She said she doesn't think I will even need radiation since I have no lymph nodes involved (she will check the sentinel node during surgery in the spring to be sure) but my MO has already mentioned that I will need radiation....we haven't discussed it at length yet though..

What do you guys think? are there better results with doing radiation after a BMX and no lymphnodes involved? I"m not opposed to radation, but If I don't really need it I would love to not have to do it, I would have to drive 45 min each way, every day, after work to get to the closest radiation place near me...

I was just wondering if I have a lower reoccurance if I do it? or not? of course I plan to ask my drs these questions too but I don't see my MO for another 2 weeks at my next chemo....

Oh and one more question...IF I do need rads....are they done after BMX? how do rads effect reconstruction surgery?
