IORT VS Full Breast Radiation

Hi everyone! I am a 52 yr old premenopausal female recently diagnosed with IDC grade 1, slow growth left breast only. Thank goodness my right breast is clear. My lumpectomy is scheduled for March and I am also getting a reduction/lift during surgery. IORT is a relatively new way of radiation with few trials, very limited historical data and little info found on the web. They go in at surgery, one shot of radiation and done. Except if the cancer spreads to the lymph nodes which I won't find out until a week after surgery which would require full breast course of radiation anyway plus be out $7500.

Has anyone heard of or had IORT? I am told I am a candidate but it's pricey but insurance doesn't cover any of it. My dilemma is that there is A slight chance that my IDC has spread into the lymph nodes. Oncology radiologist says recurrence is 3% for IORT and 1% for whole breast radiation. Having a tough time making the decision!
