size of lump correlates with tumor size?

does the size of a breast lump correlate with tumor size? on ultrasound i was told it measured 2cm, but the lump i feel is bigger. while i will know for sure about the size after surgery, i am curious..thanks

    I have the same question. Now that I know it's breast cancer I'm feeling the size of it and it's pretty terrifying :(

    The size of the lump you're feeling doesn't necessarily correlate with the size of the tumor. And it's important to remember that the size of the tumor doesn't necessarily correlate with the stage or severity of the cancer, either.     sweetchild.yes, its terrifying.hopefully some ladies will share their experiences... has anybody thought for sure that their size would be big because of their lump but came out smaller than they thought/felt?
