Anyone have nipple delay & sentinel node biopsy 2 wks before mx?

Hi ladies,

Has anyone had nipple delay procedure and sentinel node biopsy done at the same time 2 weeks before getting a mx?

I have decided to get a unilateral mx on my right breast with direct to implant reconstruction, but my breast surgeon has agreed to do a nipple delay procedure to help me hopefully save my nipple. She suggested we do the sentinel node biopsy at the same time.

I don't have surgery dates yet for either procedure. My breast surgeon and reconstructive surgeon are trying to coordinate dates. I know it will be coming up probably early to mid February. I'm feeling anxious and a little scared. I tried to research nipple delay procedure, but there are not many results that pop up. Is this not done very often?

I would love to hear from any women that have had a nipple delay, just to know what to expect, and how long the recovery period is.

If anyone would like to share about sentinel node biopsy as well, that would be great. Just trying to learn about each procedure, one step at a time..
