Reconstruction of my reconstruction

I told my plastic surgeon I wanted to be smaller than my expander size, but unfortunately he made me too small. I am not 100% pleased with the size and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience and how you handled it. Did you have the silicone implant surgery redone to adjust the size? and if so, was it covered by your insurance? I sort of doubt it will be covered, but just wondering other people's experiences.

Thanks!

What does your ps say? Maybe you could do an exchange implant or possibly fat grafting. I believe insurance will pay to make it right and any future maintenance work that needs to be done.

I haven't had my follow-up yet since the exchange, and I'm nervous he'll be annoyed. Also, my gut tells me insurance will only pay for "medically necessary" vs "cosmetic adjustments".

No I am sure insurance will pay for cosmetic fixes that is what the law says. Your ps should be understanding to your wishes you're the one living with the result. Look up the law that Bill Clinton signed in 1998 for breast reconstruction after a breast cancer mastectomy your ps should be familiar with this too.
