Hi,

I was diagnosed and treated back in 2010 with stage 2. Haven't had much sex since then and have been on tamoxifen for 7 years based on new data (10 years is better). I had sex about two days ago, and had a bit bleeding afterwards. I will not be see a doc till next week. Have any you had similar experience? I read about dryness caused by Tamoxifen and possible inflammation after sex. Not sure whether this is the case.

Thanks a lot

You did not mention if you have experienced menopause, either natural or med induced. But even if you are still pre-menopause, tamoxifen in addition to the lack of sexual activity for a number of years can definitely cause dryness and bleeding in the vaginal area. Not uncommon at all. Definitely mention it to your doctor when you see him/her though. I would suggest working back into sex slowly and use a lot of lube. There are also vaginal moisturizers you can use a few times a week like Luvena or Replens that help restore moisture to the area. Definitely check out the threads in this section. You'll find lots of great advice!

thank you so much! I went to see the doctor and she checked me. It seems things are ok. She still wants me to monitor the uterus thickness more frequently. So I will get ultrasound next week. Keep my fingers crossed
