Getting Through the Holidays With Breast Cancer

Options

Does anyone who is in the middle of treatments have any advice to give to those of us in the middle of chemo to help stay upbeat and deal with the holidays? I do have a close family who will be there on Christmas Eve but will share them (my kids) with my ex, their dad, on Christmas Day. Any kind words would be appreciated.

Five years ago, I had an MX the day before Thanksgiving and was starting chemo 2 days after Christmas. I remember that I was basically numb through it all. I remember being with family and friends and everyone's concern for me, but everything else is a blur. My best advice is to realize that this Christmas is only one out of your lifetime. Do not put any expectations on yourself. Everything you can do is a bonus. Let others take care of you.

    Sending all my best!

I was undergoing chemo during the holidays two years ago. It was a blur to me, but like Denise said - it is one Christmas out of your lifetime. Let others take care of you. If you are alone for Christmas as your kids are with their dad, plan ahead. Have a meal purchased and already at the house. Get your favorite Christmas movies together and plan a movie date with dinner!

    Just a thought!

I wish you nothing but the best!
