Merry Christmas from my Sen.

A short while ago I received a Merry Christmas e-mail card from my Senator. Not a 'Happy Holidays' or 'Season's Greetings' but Merry Christmas!
It really lifted my 'spirits' to get it, that an elected person again feels comfortable to send the greeting to someone he doesn't personally know, just a resident of his state - So Dak.
I have met John Thune twice while wandering around at Central States Fair. Once when he was first running and once since then. (He is TALL!)

I read recently that it's become fashionable to say "Merry Christmas" again. Makes me happy as I recall the "good old days" when Christmas trees were in schools, carols were sung, etc. I certainly have compassion for those who are not Christian, in fact my husband is Jewish, but he said he always enjoyed the festivities anyway.
