I have had a tough summer , got septic 3 different times, got my port out, got a PICC line removed, many antibiotics that took all my sttrngth. I started radiation to left hip & femur. After a 3 week break I started radiation to my lower spine. A few days into my spine I had excruciating pain I my left femur, which was thought to be a flair. Pain med was changed to methadone, prednisone started. Pain was so bad I could not sit on toilet. Now this past Thursday I get PET scan and around 1:00 am I wake up with pain that once again progressed to excruciating in both knees down to my ankles. Any one.else experience this?

Thanks, sue

Sue, it sounds to me like something is pressing on the nerves in your lower spine. Compression of the L5 nerves cause pain around the ankle.

I'm not sure the PET will tell you if that is the case -- you should absolutely tell your doctors about this. An MRI could tell what's wrong.

[I'm so sorry your summer was ugly. Hang in there!]
