Illemae:
The neuropathy has kicked up a notch. Both my fingers and toes hurt, and some of the finger nails are turning white now. Poop. Just when I thought I had escaped from Taxol SEs.
I guess I will call the office tomorrow, just to document that it's happening.

Ladies
Got to ask if any of you have had this issue,. Almost 2 mts after my last chemo Im losing my eyelashes, actually they are all gone, woke up yesterday and they were all over my face and the last came out today .
Also no regrowth of hair in private area or under arm Now legs hairs I don't think I ever did lose my leg hair .Small issue compared t the SE some of you ladies are having but it just seems weird that I would be losing my eye lashes 2 mts out.Huggs

mexicoheather, I have a few white fingernails now too with a lovely bonus nail infection, so gross! I also have some neuropathy in my fingertips which I reported to my MO when it became daily. MO cut my Abraxane dose 20% and it's more tolerable now.
Honeybeaw, it does sound odd to lose lashes now. I still have mine and have some new hair growth on my head (nowhere else) but I'm still getting chemo for a couple more weeks due to delays caused by severe hypersensitivity to taxotere and taxol.
I hope everything else is going well for you ladies.

HoneyBeaw - I had the same thing happen to me at 6 weeks and 7 weeks PFC. Now I have 6 eyelashes on my left eye and about 10 on my right. I'm pretty sure that is common for the T/C chemo regimen. (Another SE my MO never mentioned.) I lost all my leg hairs and they seemed to start growing back around 5 week after my last chemo. My private area is growing back, but oh so slowly.

Some of my toenails turned brown too. Last chemo was Sept 20 and I still have 2 nails with the brown area. Guess I should paint them since I will live in sandals until October.

Hi Ladies - I finished chemo on 4/13. My nails are a mess! Lost a toenail yesterday. My MO told me this may happen, just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to encourage healthy new nail growth. Just in time for summer and flip flops ----ugh! Thanks in advance!
-
ML1209: Hi. Yes, I have Taxol toenail problems. Putting antibacterial cream on it and keeping toes dry is key. My nails were looking abused, so today I took a mental health break : Mani/ Pedi with an additional paraffin bootie treatment for both feet. I have had good results with rubbing in coconut oil on the nails. Tea tree oil was also recommended, but I didn't try it.
I ended up with some CIPN. If they're going to hurt, at least they will be pretty.
-
Ml1209, how did you lose your nail? I might lose one or two and it freaks me out. All my fingernails and my two big toe nails lifted up and are infected. I'm on anti-biotics now, hoping they improve soon.
-
Mexicoheather - thank you. Will try. Afraid to get a pedicure right now. I think all my nails may come off
. Tree Tea oil was suggested to me as well. Guess I should try.
Illimae - it has been loose for a while. Went to bed with it on - woke up with it off. Ugh! It doesn't hurt ..... just looks ugly.
-
Thanks ml1209, I'm afraid mine will tear off and hurt like heck.
This last week of chemo has me down with major fatigue and aches, hoping to bounce back soon.
-
Illimae - mine were tender during chemo, but no pain now and I am 7 weeks out from last chemo. My energy is definitely coming back. Just had LX so that is lowing me down some, but before that energy was def up. My MO told me this might happen to the nails. I iced hands and feet during Taxol. Going to try the tea tree oil I guess. Just another fun side effect. Have a good weekend and rest as you can.
