MBC vs TERRORIST death
Another big explosion tonight at the heart of my hometown Istanbul.. 10s of people died... the big sound of explosion was so scary..
some people are trying to start a war in the country, sadly.. the war in my body takes up so much energy that I am forced to ignore any news of politics, terrorist attacks etc.. focus on my family and live each day at a time. 2 sisters who visited Istanbul and had coffee with me vitnessed we are NOT an Arabic country, NOT ruled by religion.. thus the fundamentalists are stirring things and try to form a false image of my country..
well.. guess things will be harsh for a while here, yet I believe it will hopefully be over with as few casulties as possible and Turkiye will continue to be a strong modern country.
I am OK, my family is safe and that matters. Weird, MBC taught me to become selfish in time..
hugs & love

Hugs ((Ebr)). Sorry you going through this.
I am also watching my country become something I don't recognize. At the moment all I can do is focus on my family and my care. Either selfish or realistic, I am not sure. But I do have stage IV cancer.

I am so glad to know you are ok, Ebru. I refuse to feel guilty for not paying a lot of attention to politics. It is not my calling right now. I need to focus on my mental and physical health, and on my family.
-
Thanks for letting us know you and your family are OK. It is about you, I agree, not the terrorists. Hoping this all blows over soon.
-
Good heavens Ebru, it's not as if you don't have enough to deal with. Life is so unbalanced in many ways. Some live the golden life and ride into the sunset while others just get slammed with crummy situations. I am so sorry you have to deal with upheaval in your country but so glad we heard from you. It's been awhile and glad to hear you are hanging in there. Prayers that the violence ends soon.
-
I seen that on the news yesterday and immediately thought of you. So thankful you are okay. Hoping and praying for peace everywhere.
-
Ebru,
I think of you often and my heart sank when I heard of the bombing. No words of wisdom or witty comments. Stay safe and focus on the family.
Love , Caryn

Ebru, it is a relief to know you are OK, and that you are managing to compartmentalize the violence in a place where it will not interfere with your ability to look after yourself and those you love.
As is zarovka, I too am worried about my country with its underbelly of hate and violence, which have emerged more than ever this year. That said, I am focusing on myself, my family, and on getting the MBC Guide into the hands of as many patients as possible. But whereas I'd normally mail out Holiday Cards with wishes for a happy holiday season and New Year, at this juncture it feels like an oxymoron.
I hope that you and those you love remain safe.

Ebru, I am happy to hear from you. Like Kandy,, I thought of you as soon as I saw the news about the horrible bombing, but I know that we do not hear the complete or accurate reporting of what is happening there. I am glad to hear you and your family are safe. I cannot imagine how all the events have changed your beloved city and country. It must be particularly stressful for your son to grow up among the violence and unrest. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. Stay safe.
Hugs from, Lynne

My gosh, Ebru, what a volatile environment you live in. It is hard to imagine that kind of terrorism so close to home. Many prayers for your safety, the safety of you son, hsuband and others. Glad you are safe.
-
Ebru, so hard to fathom that humans want to kill each other isn't it. I'm so glad you are safe today. X

Yes Ebru cancer changes our outlook. Glad you are safe.
-
Ebru, I am glad that you and your family are safe. The hatred and violence that seems to be taking over the world is truly terrifying.
My in-laws visited Turkey many times and loved the country. They always said the people there were so warm and welcoming to them, and the food is different from American food, but very delicious!
Stay safe and keep focusing on healing your cancer, as much as possible!

Dear all,
Thank you so much for your kind messages.. Right at the center of Europe and Asia, my country has many conflicts, yet to be resolved.. ugh.. I am sorry for DS' generation.. growimg up in such terror!
Yet, there are still things to be celebrated.. the approaching New Year. I wish 2017 is a better year for us all..
Happy Christmas & Hannukah btw..
So happy to see all of your messages under each thread, that some of us are still together and we meet new sisters each day.
I recently learned Calcium and Magnesium should be taken individually, ideally 12 hrs apart, keep that in mind
Love,
Ebru

Every time I hear about the unrest in Turkey I think of you. We just don't have that here in the US, the closest we have come of course is 9/11..and the school shootings. And the recent election!
Stay safe.
