Lumpectomy and IORT Recovery

I was recently diagnosed with low grade DCIS It is a small size at 5mm x 6 mm. I decided to proceed with lumpectomy and IORT. My surgeon and RO are confident on the treatment plan.  My surgery date is on 12/22. I have made travel plans early part of this year for a month long trip on 12/31. Wanted to get some feedback on how the recovery was for people who went throught the same procedure. How many days before you can do day to day activities. How were you guys feeling a week after the procedure?

I had an Lx with IORT. It was a very easy procedure. I relaxed for about week after and was totally fine. I probably was fine sooner but was erring on the side of caution. I think you will be fine for your trip . Have fun and good luck!

Thank you plumster1. Good to know that your recovery was quick. This is really helpful since I am quite torn to whether cancel or continue. From what I have read so far, it looks like the recovery is is not as bad as I think it is. I will keep you posted.
