I had a scare too. Thyroid nodules are extremely common. Take your age and that's the percentage chance you have of having a thyroid nodule.

Mine showed up on a completely unrelated test. So I had an ultrasound and then a biopsy - turned out to be nothing. So now i just see my endocrinologist once a year to check on it......

That said, it is always wise to have these things checked out. Hopefully, yours turns out to be nothing as well

Well I have never had any issue with my thyroid or any history in my family. But, Im glad I got it checked. Onco said PET was clear, I start chemo on 12/30.

Hi I had one that I receivedtreatment for in October.

This was something that they had found when I was first diagnosed. They watched it for a few years and finally decided after receiving some test results that showed hyperthyroid, that I would finally need treatment on it. As I had already had it biopsied and it was determined not to be cancer I had a very low dose of radioactive iodine treatment. Now my thyroid is actually low and I am taking medication for it. Thyroid nodules are very common and more than likely not cancer.

Good luck and I hope everything works out

I had a nodule about two years before my BC. I had a biopsy and it came back fine. I just went last week for a ultrasound and now I have another one on the other side, but both are very small and my doctor says no worries and to check again in a year.

I have three nodules that we've been watching for about 6 years. My doctor tried a fine needle biopsy, with no real answers. It was horrible and I'll never go through that again. Any biopsy in the future will take place under anesthesia!

    Yup

nodule was cancer-- very rare-95% are usually benign--- pretty small, had my thyroid out and am on meds--but it was very low level.... endo once a year.... pretty easy overall....

I too had a nodule discovered during a PET scan. I was thankful it was discovered because it turned out it was cancerous. I had my thyroid out, had RAI treatment, am on meds now, and doing great overall
