Should I have Oncotype Test?

Is Oncotype testing the only way to know about my recurrence rate? My oncologist never mentioned it to me, I think because I have nodes involvement and I started chemo already anyway. Are there other ways to know about my recurrence rate?

    Oncotype testing is offered to some patients with 3 or less positive nodes but your young age and your Grade 3 cancer would probably be the reasons your Onc recommended chemo. Oncotype can only predict the recurrence risk of your current cancer and can in no way predict the likelihood of another, different cancer. Your Oncologist should be able to provide you with some statistics based on your tumour profile and your treatment plan. Wishing you well. Donna.

    steph, with your er and pr percentages being so high I would go for hormone therapy. AI treatments seem oarticularly effective. I guess doing chemo because you are grade 3 and younger. But don't think hormone therapy isn't equally effective.
