ARN - 810 trial
Is anyone in the ARN - 810 trial. If I understand correctly its to see if those with hormone sensitive receptors that have stopped responding to treatments can be flipped back. Would be good if works.

It is to test a new class of drugs, a selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD). It would make the tumor unresponsive to estrogen.

We have fulvestrant which is a SERD. So this GDC-0810 could potentially be a second Selective Estrogen Receptor Degrader.
Interesting study.

I did not know that, thank you!

would this be a different make up than flaslodex. only lasted 1 yr on flaslodex.

Faslodex is the brand name of Fulvestrant. ARN-810 is also a SERD but, if I understand what they are doing correctly, it is oral rather than a shot. They are hoping they can increase concentrations of the drug in the blood stream by administering it orally and making it more effective.
Here is a very readable article from Genetech, the company developing the drug.

zarovka's response is s[pot-on! Faslodex (Fulvestrant) is a SERD, just like ARN-810. A key difference, as she pointed out, is that ARN-810 is given orally, and is still in clinical trial whereas Faslodex, which is FDA-approved, is injected into the buttocks and can be quite uncomfortable for some patients.
Below from my MBC Guide is a brief writeup about it. You and others are welcome to obtain a free copy of the 125-page MBC Guide by visiting: https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/8/topics/850680?page=1#idx_3
- GDC-0810 (ARN-810):This is a dual-acting investigational next-generation oral Selective Estrogen Receptor Downregulator (SERD) that works in a number of ways to prevent estrogen fueling tumor growth. It is not only designed to target the estrogen receptor (ER) as an antagonist, but also to cause degradation of the ER protein. In a Phase I/IIa clinical trial, of the 37 patients who have previously been on other hormonal therapies which had failed, 14 achieved stable disease for six or more months on the study drug. From: http://medicalxpress.com/news/2015-04-er-degrader-safe-early-antitumor.html
