Call it lazy, I have not picked up my tamoxifen in about 3 months. I have also not had insurance till now. So I'll call the pharmacists but how much damage have I done, not taking my tamoxifen for 3 months? I was diagnosed with atypcial ductal hyperplasia last year and was placed on T for the next 5 years. Sometimes when your life isn't great, you easily overlook life savings drugs such as this, reasoning: ignorance is bliss. Thank you.

I really don't think it matters. I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep over it! Have a great Thanksgiving and call the dr. next week. :)

I think that's overly harsh, yorkiemom. ADH isn't even cancer. I wouldn't hazard a guess as to what percentage of women with ADH are put on tamoxifen, but certainly not all, maybe not most. There are many women who had DCIS, which is cancer, who are not even put on tamoxifen at all.

Furthermore, even women with invasive cancer (like me) are told by the MO that this drug stays in your system for a long time after you quit taking it, and it's perfectly OK to take breaks if you need to. There is even a study underway in Europe right now, testing whether it's just as effective to be on an AI for 9 months, off for 3, repeat.
