ER+ vs menapousal issues

Having been dx'ed at 36, I have been on Lupron and Zoladex shots, when not already been chemopaused..

MO said my specific case confirmed her thought that 3monthy Lupron shots are not effective enough on younger premenapousal women.. and monthly Zoladex shots have been so much more effective on me..

If only I hadn't grown this huge belly, sigh..

This info might help some of you.. We gave up first round of AIs cause of Lupron .. worth considering such a probability.

Ebr - thanks. I am on the 3 month lupron shot. I was pre-menopausal when diagnosed in January of this year, but I am 52. So far I am responding to the hormonal treatment but I'll keep this in mind. I am wondering if I should switch back to monthly zoladex (what I started with). Hmmmm.

My wife made the decision to have her ovaries removed, as opposed to chemically suppressing them. I think she hasn't looked back on that decision.

Zarovka, as my MOnis a top teaching Prof in my country, I definitely trust her decisions.. she is always updated and pioneer in therapy, both scientifically and intuitively.

Timothy, as I've been dx'ed MBC right from the start with no surgeries so far, I haven't considered removing my overies and MO has not insisted on that yet. Guess each of us are specific in our cases..

anyway.. hope we all do well long!
