WOW - my scars look AWESOME!!!

I'm 3 weeks out from my exchange and I about burst into happy tears when I got to see my scars for the first time today! My PS calls it his "own brand of voodoo." He puts dermabond on either side of the incision, paper tapes over it, and covers the whole thing with a transparent occlusive dressing and leaves it on for 3 weeks. Honestly - there is absolutely NO redness WHATSOEVER!! The scars are hairline thin! I only got to see them for a short time before he put on more dermabond and paper tape. He gave me a roll of paper tape and told me to keep using it. It keeps the scar from being pulled apart with activity. He's being extra careful because I've had a ton of complications.

This is so different from the way my scars looked when I got my expanders and had a different plastic surgeon. I'm sure there are a lot of reasons for that (including the fact that I was not compliant with my activity restrictions) - I got necrosis and had to have 3 or 4 scar revisions, and when I went in for my exchange I was sporting some pretty ugly scars. I was afraid I'd look like Frankenstein's monster for the rest of my life.

Just thought I'd share some good news for once.
