Odor under breast

Good evening my sister survivors- I have completed 25/30 treatments as of today. To be honest it's been a long road. The clinic I go to for my Rads is a "subdivision" of a large hospital. Unfortunately, I never she the same radiation oncologist as they rotate weekly. Within the last week and a half the skin under my breast has broken open. I have large breast. I have noticed an odor under that breast and when I clean under there is yellowish gunk on the wash clothe.

They tell me it's because it's dead skin, but I was wondering if anyone has the experience.

Also, I'm extremely nervous because I found a lump on my breast. It is a little over and inch away from my SLB sight. The rad onc says its scar tissue and they will continue to watch it and I'm supposed to monitor the size of it. Should a demand an mammogram or ultra sound?

thanks for any insight you may have.

Hi Briannek, I'm sorry--looks like your post was missed. The skin issue you mention--are you using a silvadine cream under your breast? The nurse told me not to worried if it looked yellow or brownish, it didn't mean infection. But you should ask to see a nurse before or after your appointment and ask any questions you have. I don't know about lumpy scar tissue--my whole breast is still hard from rads. Ask your MO? You must be done with rads by now, I hope things are improving. Healing wishes to you.
