I have been on Taxol for seven weeks. I have 5 more rounds to go.But the most annoying side effect I am going through is the itching. It started around 5th round. It is all over my body but mostly on my toes and fingers. I have been advised to take Benadryl but it helps a little for 4 to 6 hours and then it starts right back.Is it normal to experience this type of side effects? Please anyone tell me what to do.On my end I am thinking about quitting the treatment but on the other end I worry about recurrence. Pleas advise.

same here! I got a rash all over my body after my second TC treatment and it got so bad i had to get some steroids because i was taking so much benadryl, it was so itchy and started to sting when i iched my feet and hands, because it was almost ten days after my treatment my dr was wasnt to sure it was a allergic reaction, so now i just had my third treatment two days ago and the rash ans itchiness is coming back, i guess i will be calling my dr back in the morning.

    Feel better soon,Sending positive vibes!

I'm experiencing severe itching also, this has to be the worst side effect. I have a cortisone lotion from the dermatologist that I put on after showering and before bed. I take Claritin during the day and Benedryl at night so I can sleep without itching. Can't wait to finish Taxol.

    Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear you all are experiencing the itch from Taxol. My mom had the same problem with the 3rd round of Taxol and her oncologist changed her chemo from Taxol to Taxotere. With the second round of Taxotere the itch came back and the doctor is now consulting with other doctors to see what they're going to recommend for my mom since my mom cannot tolerate Taxol nor Taxotere. We are still waiting for her oncologist to call us on that recommendation. Wish everyone good luck with treatment.
