Hi, my name is May and I have just joined this site tonight.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago and had my right breast removed. I had reconstructive surgery, where my latissimus Doris muscle was used to create a new breast.

After a year I stopped smoking and joined the gym that same day!

I could not finish a 3 minute warm up before a class as my breathing was bad and I hadn't exercised for lots of years.

I have now been going to the gym for 1 year and do spin, weight training and bootcamp classes. I attend 5 days a week and have never felt better. I am 50 soon. I have been taking tamoxifen now for 2 years and have no side effects apart from swearing at night!

I have never read up on anything to do with my breast cancer nor read the leaflet in the tamoxifen, I decided to try to make the most of the time I have left.

My understanding is, we are only restricted by our own thinking, we cannot let this get in the way of our goals.

I am also a recovering addict. I have been abstinent from all mind and mood altering substances for 7 years now.

I have never felt better and I wish everyone all the very best in their journey of life. Xx
