No Radiation for Small Tumor

Hi,

Just in case someone in a similar situation might find this helpful, I thought I'd share my experience. I had a small (3mm) tumor, grade 1, no node involvement, detected by MRI. When I consulted three oncologists, one breast surgeon, one tumor board and one RO, no one could tell me what I should do. I found the below study that found that for small (under 14mm) non-palpable tumors without associated calcifications, opting out of radiation is a reasonable choice. I sent this study to my medical team and all agreed that it would be okay if I did not do radiation, provided that I was followed closely, which is what I intend to do. I know everyone's situation is different, but on the off chance this might be helpful to someone, I thought I'd share.
