Weird Symptom?
Hi all,
Been awhile since I've posted but I do read the board often. So, the past couple of days I've had some weird bruises pop up in weird places (stomach, leg, forearm, back of upper arm). I am currently on Ibrance, Faslodex, and Zometa. It's been pretty easy so far.....started in April. The only side effect is a dip in my blood counts at the end of a cycle. I am currently on my 7 days off. No other symptoms, but wondering if I should talk to my doctor about it? My regular oncologist is on maternity leave and so I have just been talking to a nurse the past couple of months prior to starting a new cycle.
Any thoughts or advice?
Thanks!

hi. While I am not on zometa I see that bruising easily is one of the listed side effects. I would mention to your onc.

Hi Kayrnic, I already posted this info to the Faslodex/Ibrance thread, but am posting here as well. The bruising could be from low platelet counts from Ibrance. Do you know if they are low? I experienced some bruising and nosebleeds when my platelet count was low during my first cycle of Ibrance. You should report the bruising to your MO, just to be on the safe side. Your MO might say there is no reason to be concerned, but it is always better to ask than to ignore the symptoms.

Unexplained bruising is one of the things my Onc office asks me about now that I've started Ibrance. I'm pretty clumsy so I usually have some to point out to them and explain how they came to be. They've never told me what they would do though I feel I had bruises I couldn't explain. My sense is it was anoutblow platelets though like Lynne said above

Thanks! The platelet idea was pointed out to me by a phlebotomist today who noticed the bruising. So I will definitely talk to the oncologist.

When I was on the 125MG dosage I bumped my thigh on a table, not too hard. I got a bruise about the size of a quarter at first then grew as big as my fist. It hung around for a month!

I have always bruised like a peach...even more so on these meds

Hi K, good to "see" you. Hope this symptom is merely pain in the rear and not a significant problem. Best to you- SUE
