Lifetime maximums and pre existing conditions

What's going to happen if lifetime maximums are reinstated? And what if a certain presidential candidate doesn't follow through with his promise regarding pre existing conditions? I never had to deal with insurance before the ACA so I don't have a frame of referenceand now I'm scared. I'm responding to treatment and I'm fighting for 50 more years. Will this election make my treatment impossible???

I'm so upset, but as far as I am aware I'm not stage 4. I had 2 recent scares but this election has me very scared.

Looks like the house and senate have gone repubican and Trump looks like he is winning. If we go to pre existing conditions and lifetime limits I'm screwed. The first thing is to repeal Obamacare, let insurance companies go competitive. What about us in the meantime. Oh wait Trump said we are going to have beautiful wonderful health care.

I just ask myself why people voted this way.

I dont think I ever felt this way before. Overnight stock market crashes, next year when Obama leaves I'll probably have no money or heathcare.

Oh I wish I cashed out on Monday its too late now. The stress is unreal.

    We are f#ck3d!

It was nice to have hope as a stage IV while it lasted.

Nothing is as good as what you hope for and nothing is as bad as you have imagined.

I am terribly concerned too. I will be retiring at 60 in June and while I'm expecting to be covered under my wife's insurance, that's not as comfortable and secure a feeling as having my own or having medicare. My brother finally has insurance under the ACA (we are inn Ca so our rates are not going up as much as other areas) and I'm worried about him and all who may be at risk. I thank cive for her words, though. I believe that generally to be so and currently choose to dwell there as much as possible. It's something.

I know that this is an old thread but thought I would post in case anyone is browsing and finds this. Wonder if anyone else has encountered this...it seems like a "clever" way around lifetime maximums: I was informed that my plan won't guarantee coverage of more than three lines of treatment. After that they evidently put you on palliative/hospice care. I was horrified since I know a number of people who are WAY past three lines of Tx. This sounds like a different verse, same song of lifetime maximums. Other plans are requiring Pt's to go through "step therapy" even if genomic testing indicates that your cancer is not likely to respond to the next step (crazy and unproductive!). Arg! So frustrating!

So after 3 treatments they basically write you off...so sad. I’m terrified of hitting my maximum. I honestly don’t know what people do/have done at that point. What insurance company will take a stage 4 cancer patient. I know there are assistance programs, but that seems like such a minimal amount of help when you look at getting scans and changing treatments till you find one that works
