Starting chemo next week

I've posted on the Just Diagnosed forum but I'm moving past diagnosis to treatment. I have IDC/Triple Negative; 1.6cm tumor. I met with Dr Irie and Dr Weltz at The Dubin Breast Cancer Center/Mt Sinai today. They have recommended 5 months of chemo before surgery and I'll start chemo next Wednesday. Dr Irie is the MO and she also enrolled me in a study she is doing on Triple Negative. It is not a treatment study, it is a study to develop individualized mouse models using a piece of tumor from each participant. They follow the models to see whether the tumor in the model responds the same way as the tumor in the patient. This study has the potential to help find ways to better target chemical approaches for Triple Negative.
