comedo DCIS in chest wall

My pre-biopsy mammogram findings:

Interval development of pleomorphic calcifications extending beyond chest wall to the nipple in a ductal pattern with a 12.4cm extent x 4.6cm (the measurement is only on the mammo...the extent goes off the mammo)

Just diagnosed last friday:

High nuclear grade ductal carcinoma in situ with comedonecrosis and microcalcifications. I am still pending my ER & PR results (how long does this take???)

What are others experiences with treatment options presented when DCIS is in the chest wall?

Can they remove it in the chest wall during mastectomy and get clear margins?

Has anyone done chemo with comedo DCIS? I know this isn't the go-to treatment, but still curious.

I have my first appt with my assigned breast surgeon next tuesday. I would love any insight before I head in to see her.

Many thanks!!

ER/PR takes several days more, if it has left the ducts, then it is no longer DCIS. I have yet to hear about chemo with DCIS. I remember reading some posts where the fascia covering the chest wall is removed to achieve a clean margin. Maybe you can use the search function to find others here who have dealt with DCIS at the chest wall. Good luck to you on your appt with the breast surgeon next Tuesday - and don't hesitate to ask about getting a second opinion.

I would call your radiologist and ask for an appointment so he/she will explain the findings. I talked to both radiologists that performed my mammo and MRI extensively. They explained the limitations of imaging in my particular case. It guided my decision and my choice of treatment more than consultations with my surgeon and  oncologists, including a second opinion at a leading cancer center.
