Fibroadenoma biopsy complications?

Hey everyone-new on here and searching for answers,hoping someone can help. 2 1/2 years ago I found a lump.Went for my first mammogram(diagnostic) and ultrasound, which then led to needlecore biopsy.Was diagnosed as complex fibroadenoma-3.6 mm. The biopsy was a nightmare(sorry to scare anyone)-given the location, the dr had to go through a lot of very dense(so I've been told) tissue. She had a hard time obtaining samples, which then caused this procedure to drag on,long enough for the numbing medication to wear off before it was finished(the last 2 samples, especially the last one), I felt ALL OF!! Later that night, I ended up at the emergency room because my breast started to bleed and I couldn't get it to stop. Fast forward a few weeks-I started having searing nerve pain in that breast, then ended up with mastitis. Nerve pain continued for a year or so, then thankfully subsided.Ever since the biopsy, the lump(which was absolutely painless before biopsy) has gotten more and more tender and downright painful-to the point that if it is bumped or touched a certain way, it hurts enough to bring tears. I have been referred twice to a breast surgeon after having recheck mammo and ultrasound, about this lump. Both times she told me she won't remove the lump because a) it hasn't gotten bigger and b) removing it could cause scar tissue which could cause pain and that I should just wait it out until menopause, when the lump should go away(I'm only 42 now).What I think has happened is that the biopsy caused scar tissue and that's what is making it so painful.Has anyone experienced this? I'm also wondering if anyone has had one removed and then experienced pain. I have to go for yet another mammo(I've lost count how many I've had) to recheck another area that I had biopsied earlier this year(everything went fine with this one) and am absolutely dreading the spot compression since the last one six months ago took 3 attempts to get, just because it was SO PAINFUL!I swear I'm not a wimp!!Sorry about the long-winded post, I am just so frustrated!!

We understand just how frustrating (and painful) this must be. What did your doctor say about the scar tissue? Are they concerned?
