Newly diagnosed Stage 4

in August I had a CT scan of my abdomen for suspected kidney stones. Good news was negative for kidney stones but positive for 2 nodules in my right lung. This was followed by chest X-ray and another CT scan of my chest, both confirmed the existence of the nodules. So my primary Doctor referred me to a thoracic surgeon and my oncologist. Biopsy was done which came back as metastatic breast cancer - original cancer was in 2009, stage 1B, grade 3. Vats surgery was scheduled for September 29 and the growth was removed with clear margins. So far the plan of attack is to take Arimidex, followed by yearly mammogram in December with ultrasound of auxiliary nodes in right arm and an ultrasound of the super-clavicle in the left neck area as these two areas were slightly lit up on the PT scan done before surgery. Depending on these results will determine where I go from here. I feel confident in the decision of my medical team. This isn't a place I thought I would be in but am grateful to have the benefit of your experiences. Thanks

Terrijo

TerriJo, I'm so sorry that you are joining us here. I'm also a stage I that progressed to stage IV. Sounds you have a great plan in place. Here's hoping that Arimidex works gangbusters for you. Welcome
