Just wondering if anyone is taking melatonin. If so, what dosage and why are you taking it.

I guess what I really wanted to know was if it was safe for us to take, and does it affect estrogen in any way?

My Onco said it I safe and better than any drug like ambien. It is a natural hormone your body makes and as you age you make less of it. where people go wrong is if they take it in the middle of the night. you take it 1 hour before bed. I take 1 mg sub lingual. when I have taken 3 mgs I have major dreams.

I started taking melatonin more than 30 years ago as a flight attendant for an international carrier. I have taken it regularly for the past 5 years and take between 10-15 mgs. a night. My mo said it's fine and I sleep like a baby.
