Petition to Get Ourselves Counted

It may come as a surprise to some that the only time that a person with mbc gets counted as a metastatic breast cancer patient is if they are diagnosed with the disease from the outset, or when they eventually die of it. Those who initially were diagnosed with early stage disease that ultimately spread to other organs are never captured in the SEER database, which is the official registry for cancer statistics in the US.

This practice must change if our disease is to be adequately studied and funded, and for us to receive the requisite standard of care that will alleviate our suffering and extend our lives.

Please consider signing this petition to ensure that everyone diagnosed with mbc gets counted.

Bestbird there is another thread called "Petition to count ALL People living with MBC." I signed that one. Can we consolidate it into one? It is the same petition.
