CNB after FNA

Hi Everyone,

I had a B9 papilloma removed in 2015.

Earlier this month, I found a "thick" are, in the same breast, when doing my self-exam. It's not really a lump but more of a vague thickness. I had an ultrasound and FNA done, and the results came back B9.

Today, I had a scheduled mammo. The radiologist found a spot in my left breast that looks like a tiny fibroadenoma; but, to be safe, we're doing a core needle biopsy. He also wants a CNB on the right "thickening" that I found in my right breast.

This is my question: why do a CNB on an area that was found to be B9? Is it just to find out what the B9 area is?

Has anyone experienced this before: CNB after B9 FNA?

Also if anyone had a "thick" area, did you have underarm pain?

Thanks!
