Called in for test results and terrified

Hi all,

Last Friday morning I had a chest ct scan to monitor two small lung nodules that were found in January. I had first ct scan in April and they were shrinking. I received a call last night that the doctor wants me to come in to go over scans!!! His nurse told me, even though she said she wasn't supposed to, that the spots are gone and just scar tissue left over, and that he just wants to go over scan. He has never done this before. Ivevhad five tests done and have always received the news good and bad over the phone. If the results are good, As the nurse said, why do I have to see the doctor?! I'm terrified there is something like mets that he needs to tell me about! I'm frozen with fear can anybody help calm me down?!

Just a thought here - If there is scar tissue, it will probably continue to show up on your scans. Your doctor may just want to review the scans with you so that you know what to expect in future scans.

Thank you both. My appt isn't until 4p.m. It's just very unsettling that all of a sudden after two years he wants to talk in person. I'm trying to relax. Will update later. Fingers crossed

Good news! Scan was clear and my doctor called me before I left for appt and told me no reason to come in since ct was clear. What a roller coaster!!! Thanks for listening.
