I tested positive for brca2 a month after having a double mastectomy for a 6mm triple positive cancer in my right breast. I also had dcis in my left breast. There is no breast or ovarian cancer in my family except for a third cousin that had it had breast cancer at 32 (brca2 positive) and is a 6 yr survivor. I am 42 and will have my ovaries out after chemo. I am wondering if the brca2 mutation makes me likely to recur even with my double mastectomy. Are there any statistics out there for reaccorence for us? Thank you!
