3 weeks ago I had the second of 4 A/C treatments. 2 weeks ago I ended up with a blood clot on My left lung. A million well seemed like A million tests were done and only reason anyone can give me is chemo caused the clot.

My oncologist has ordered a mammogram and a sonogram to see if any changes have occured in My tumor yet. She has said that we have options. 1 being continue with the last two a/c treatments reduced dose. 2 skip the last 2 A/C treatments and just move onto the 12 doses of taxol or 3 I can refuse all chemo.

Refusing is not something I'm willing to do. But terrified the A/C could cause me some serious immediate damage....

I a.m now on coumadin for thinning the blood. But still scared to death. Cancer can kill me. But blood clots on the lung or in my heart can kill me a lot faster.

Any thoughts?

Ask your doctor about just Cytoxin and Taxotere - six infusions. I turned down ACT because of the possible long term residual effects. Research is showing that six CT infusions are equal to four AC

I also developed a blood blot in my right lung after my 2nd A/C treatment. I had a CT scan to confirm the diagnosis and then continued with the A/C and T treatments while having daily lovenox shots. I continued using lovenox for 6 months and then discontinued its use. Only the taxol treatments were given at a reduced dose due to hand-foot syndrome, not because of the blood clot.
