Tamoxifen causing bacterial vaginosis

I'm 43 years old and was taking tamoxifen for four months. I recently quit taking Tamoxifen because I was getting very painful bacterial vaginosis infections which kept coming back and having to be on constant antiobitics. I also was having extreme hot flashes, insonmia, calves and feet pain. My Oncologist said this was the best drug for premenopausal women but suggested since my quality of life wasn't good on tamoxifen that I could take Raloxifen before getting surgery to have my ovaries removed. So I pretty much was told I have two choices to either take tamoxifen and be in constant antiobitcs for infections or get a surgery to get my ovaries removed and than be put on a post menapausal cancer drug. Has anyone had bacterial vaginosis infections from tamoxifen and if so did how long did it take to go away while on this cancer drug? Also, is there another premenapausal cancer drug that your on?

Karen, I was getting bad recurring atypical yeast infections on one brand, but when my tamoxifen brand changed (Walgreens ran out of teva and switched me to mylan) they seem to have resolved (knock on wood!). The switch also seemed to help some with my nausea, fatigue and muscle aches. I know it's not the same issue, but some others on here have also found their side effects change with brand too. I never tried it for my side effects because I didn't think it'd make too much difference, but now I wish I'd tried it sooner!
