I cannot find anything regarding nodules in both the breast and lymph nodes. I went to the doctor because my left arm had been hurting for almost 3 months. The x-ray came back abnormal. Therefore, they did a nuclear medicine scan. Nothing showed up on my left arm, but they found uptake in my left breast. Went to get a mammogram and the radiologist found something. They did an ultrasound and found 3 nodules in breast and tiny nodules in surrounding lymph nodes. They set me up an appointment with a breast surgeon. I just want information so that I will know what to ask when I go in October. Will someone please enlighten me? I'm wondering if anyone had trouble with arm (humerus) pain as well? My doctor thinks the two are associated. I know know more about my arm Friday when I see the Orthopedic.

Hi amccms2, and welcome. probably by "nodules" they mean mass or swelling of cells, though you should ask for specifics.

You may find it helpful to read on this page, What is breast cancer

Remember: (from that section) "A tumor can be benign (not dangerous to health) or malignant (has the potential to be dangerous). Benign tumors are not considered cancerous: their cells are close to normal in appearance, they grow slowly, and they do not invade nearby tissues or spread to other parts of the body. Malignant tumors are cancerous."
