I started serious treading about 2 years ago. I do deep water only, no touching sides and no belt for one hour 2-3 times a week. I work my abdominal fairly hard to protect my back. Obviously, lots of arm and leg movement, water running and intense arm movement. No lymphedema so far...5 years out. Now started lifting weights for bone health. I'm doing normal 15-30 lbs. upper body. I had 10 lymph node removed and a UniMX (right side). I'm concerned since lymphedema can occur anytime. I'm normal weight ( 146 lbs. 5'4") but hope to lose more weight. I carry heavy groceries, play with my 2 labs daily and don't think too much about stress on my right arm. It does get sore, so I rest, then back to normal. Sometimes I panic...did I do too much??? Then the arm and chest are good again.

Is anyone else in a similar situation. I actually had a terrible poison ivy break out on my R arm that took 3 weeks to heal, no lymphedema after that. Is there a point when you don't have to worry about lymphedema? Are the muscles compromised on the right arm and chest so that I could really hurt myself with these weights? I've been experimenting with the weights for about 2 weeks, and things seem ok. Please share if you have similar experiences. Thanks so much!
