It's after midnight on the East coast, which means that it's been 6 years since I was first diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer right out of the gate. I had a small tumor in my right breast which had spread to my lymph nodes and to one small spot on my spine. The surgeon recommended a partial mastectomy, removal of all axillary nodes, followed by radiation to my chest and spine. Anastrozole worked for me for 5 years before progression. Since then, I've had a rod placement in my left femur and am taking Ibrance with letrozole. I am grateful to be living in this day and age where there are many treatments available, but we need a cure!
