Hard lump in armpit
God, I really hate to post, but starting to feel really antsy about this lump. I felt a lump in May and in June saw my docs for routine check. MO sent me for ultrasound and it was determined we would do watch and wait for 3 months. My appointments are coming up on 10/3 and this lump feels harder and a bit more pronounced. I'm really feeling nervous....thinking about calling BS or MO tomorrow. Overreacting? The lump feels HARD and immovable. Ugggh

Tangandchris, I'm so sorry you're enduring this new issue. If you're thinking about calling either the BS or MO and getting in earlier than 10/3, then do it. There's no sense in worrying from now until then.
Gentle hugs and fingers crossed.

Thank you elizabeth ((hugs))

Stink!! Don't you just hate when there is a "something" to trigger the fear! Most times its nothing, but in our cases we always have to check things out before we can find peace again. Fear can put me in a real tense place that is exhausting, so I'd say go get it checked out so you'll have that peace! MD Anderson told me that if my cancer ever came back in the nodes that they would go for the cure and not just treatment. Thought that was hopeful. Praying for extra courage for you today as we all need a bit of that each day to live after BC!! Keep us posted…we're in this together!!

You should do whatever you feel will help you physically and/or emotionally. Doctors, like everybody else, respond to the squeaky wheel. Best wishes!

Now I feel like an overreacting idiot....BS nurse called me back and said the original findings showed probable lipoma and that these can change which may explain why it feels harder. *sigh* I mean this is good news, but this whole process of wondering, worry, fear is exhausting.
Sorry to waste anyone's time reading.
-
Never a waste of time!! I was just checking in on you and this made my day!!! I love when "something" is nothing!!
-
Thanks Hopefour....it's nice to know you were thinking of me. I'm still a little concerned though, as the lipoma stuff was from June and I was told to follow-up in 3 months. IDK, I just wish some days I could take a pill and erase BC from my mind.
-
It is never a waste. I am glad you called. Keep us posted after your follow-up. And...... if you're nervous between now and then, come here to vent. That's why we're here!

Thanks Kbee!!!!

"A waste of time reading"? Your good news gives us all a jolt of joy! Doing the happy dance!

I'm worried about a lump in my armpit, too (opposite side to original BC) - will go see BS NP next week and mention it. Then it's probably off to the ultrasound and pray it's B9.
-
momwriter...please keep us in the loop. ((hugs))

thanks tangandchris.

momwriter, keep us posted

well the NP didn't feel anything unusual, , so I guess it's fine. I have my annual Mammo and MRI in December but I'm going to try to stop feeling around and worrying. It's hard to balance the fear of recurrence and responsibly checking. It's definitely better to find a recurrence early, but it's emotionally exhausting to be vigilant.

Glad NP thinks all is ok. It is very stressful
-
Thanks, KBee- how are you doing?

so far, so good
