Need help on a "bucket list" activity!
Hi girls,
So, with oncologist's approval I signed up to go skydiving in December! My friend is turning 50 on the 28th and I probably won't ever get to see 50 so I'm going to celebrate now! We are signed up and ready to go, but I'm a little worried! I am currently 9 pounds over the weight limit, but don't want to miss this opportunity! I walk everyday and am doing my best to lose a few pounds but it's not coming off! I feel like my efforts are so futile! Anyone have any luck with supplements, herbs, etc??? I know I shouldn't worry too much about my weightin my condition, but I really want to do this. I have about 13 weeks! HELP?

What worked for me was cutting carbs. It meant avoiding certain foods but it's been totally worth it. No processed foods, no sugar, limited fruits. I eat protein, nuts and lots and lots of vegetable. Most importantly of all, I quit craving so staying away from carbs became super easy. The weight just fell off and I was never hungry. I got the fitness pal app and enter everything I eat every day. 55 carbs per say seems to be a good number for me.
Best of luck. Sounds like you've got an amazing goal.

karn....good for you! I had to quit or severely cut eating after 6. Get all the crap out of the house You cant eat itt if it's not there and kids and husband get used to yogurt, fiber bars and apples as snacks. You will too!

kayrnic, for rapid weight loss you might try the Atkins Diet. That's the low carb version. I couldn't do it myself but my brother tried it and lost a bunch of weight right away. [of course when he quit he gained it all back but that's a story for another day].
It's awesome that you are going skydiving!! Have a fabulous time.

You go girl. A friend and I keep talking about indoor skydiving. Need to get that on the schedule!
I did weight watchers online last year - followed it pretty well and lost the weight. Pretty painless, no public weigh ins

I have to agree. The only hope that you have to loose that kind of weight while on these drugs is an Atkins style, no carb diet. And then JUMP!

You are amazing, K! Have the best time ever! I've been able to dump a pound or two by cutting back th portions on my plate, breakfast, lunch and dinner too. SUE

Great bucket list item! To lose weight put together all the above: cut carbs, portions, eating time at night and log your food intake. You go, girl!

Ok. Looks like my carboholic days must come to an end. I have cut back, but maybe I need to do so to a greater degree. It will be worth it to make my jump! I will definitely post pictures! Thanks everyone!

I am so impressed. That is absolutely awesome that you are going to do that. I can't wait to hear the details. As far as to shed those extra few pounds, I agree that the carbs have got to go. Try going to grilled meats and salads. Watch the dressing you use though. You should be able to get those pounds off before you go. Continue to enjoy every moment.
