Hi everyone,

I am three months post exchange with Natrelle 410's. Prior to BC, and currently, I have been dealing with myasthenia gravis, a muscle disease (I'm a Jerry's kid) and was terribly out of shape and wimpy. I knew that had to change as part of my cancer preventing strategy, and it has.

A few weeks ago a yoga studio opened locally, and I got in on the start. I have been attending class faithfully and have gone from a wet noodle to a wobbly baby giraffe. My chest has worked beautifully for me, which is great!

Two nights ago I looked in the mirror before a shower and was horrified to notice my rack looking like flat hamburger buns again! There is also some mild ripples showing and Righty seems more determined than ever to drift to my armpit. I'm thinking that my previously limp pecs are now tightening up and pressing the implants down. Has anyone else noticed that happening?

I will see my breast surgeon in two weeks and run it by her. I've had a love/hate relationship with my implants but this was something I did not anticipate happening.

Thanks for reading.

C

I used to do a lot of push-ups pre-BMX. I started doing them again after I had healed from my surgeries and immediately noticed that my implants were being pushed out to the sides. It was a minor change, but I decided right then to give up push-ups in order to save my (very nice) reconstruction. I now avoid exercises that focus specifically on the pecs. I was a bit sad about it at first, but I just adjusted my thinking and I'm fine. I can still do the vast majority of the weight lifting I used to.

Thanks for the reply, SummerAngel, even though what you wrote stinks! LOL. I am most disappointed with the droop on the left that seems to be getting worse. Guess I'll see what the doc says next week.

"Wet noodle to wobbly giraffe", lol. Funny image! Okay I wouldn't be happy if that was happening to me either. I am really looking forward to exercising again. Currently I am only cleared for cardio but I love weights, machines, and floor exercises. I will keep this in mind because I really don't want to move my implants.

From what I've read it seems that some women can do all the pec exercises they like without trouble, so maybe it's just something about my reconstruction that's a problem. I really can still do most of the lifting I used to, though! I just do more of the specific-focus exercises, like bicep curls. It's not so bad, really!

HI SimmerAngel, Iike Carla I avoid any exercises that focus on pectoral muscles. I don't exactly remember who told me about this - most likely my plastic surgeon.

Ok, this is not my thread, and I do not wish to hijack it, but I have aquestion that it sounds like you gals can answer due to all your experience.

I am considering a "said PMX" who knows just how preventative it will actually be after my next lumpectomy next week?😚 I work out quite often with heavy weights, and I have some powerful Pec muscles...my BS even mentioned this....should I lay off of the Pec muscles prior to a MX?

I ask because I do not need a set of "flat hamburger like looking foobs" sitting on my chest after all that surgery and reconstruction. I know, you never can predict this things...just trying to be proactive

I have had my implants for 4 years now. I have also had trouble with exercising. Twice, I could have sworn I ruptured the implant because it was so rippled and deformed looking. After a couple weeks of rest, it returned to normal. Pre-cancer I LOVED lifting weight, now every time I work my chest out in any fashion, I have implant trouble. I have returned to my PS twice and even had an MRI to check for rupture or displacement. Not the case. My understanding is most women do well with exercise and implants, but we unfortunately are falling into the small percentage who has issues. My PS said as long as it's not painful I can work out as much as I'd like, but he since the pec muscle is stretched over our implants.
