Update on Drains, Flatness... and a big Thank YOU

Those of you who questioned whether my drains were coming out by calendar timing or output were correct. My Monday follow-up was a good check-up and I got some of the bandages removed, but went home with the drains. However, I am looking good for tomorrow's appointment...both drains are at/below the 30 cc mark and will be coming out. If you live in New England, you may hear news reports of a happy, breastless woman dancing in the streets.

I have learned so much valuable information from these discussion boards since my diagnosis. This is such an amazing community.

Thanks to your guidance, I believe I have achieved the flat result I wanted. My surgeon feels very positive that she has achieved symmetry with the incisions and removed enough skin to have "an excellent cosmetic result". Without input from this site, I would have not known to insist on not leaving extra skin "just in case" nor would I have known to discuss dog ears/longer incisions.

I'll probably get my pathology report from the BMX tomorrow so that means I'll likely be back with more questions. As someone said, BC comes with a fast and steep learning curve!
