I just got off the phone with a University Professor/Researcher who is conducting a study about the social impact MBC has on patients who were diagnosed at age 40 or younger. I heard about the study through the Young Survival Collation. We discussed the details of my diagnosis and treatments, as well as how it is impacted me, as well as my relationships with friends, family, co-workers, and dating. I was also asked about what has helped me cope with such a serious diagnosis at a young age. The whole phone interview took just about over an hour.

She is hoping to see some trends among us diagnosed at a younger age, a group that has generally been under-researched, especially from a social perspective. Her end goal is to provide patients, doctors, researchers, etc. with ways to better serve us from a psychological stand point. She will also provide the participates with a copy of her findings.

The professor has just started this study and is actively recruiting. She asked if I knew of anybody else that might fit the bill and be willing to share their insights, so if anybody is interested, please feel free to private message me and I will pass along the researchers name and contact info!!
