Life after treatment

It's been a month since I finished my treatment. Lumpectomy with LD Flap reconstruction, chemotherapy and radiation, and I'm not able to get over all I had to go through. Sometimes, I just get lost in my thoughts. My skin hasn't changed after radiation and I have pains and swelling in my left breast by the side closest to my armpit. I have gotten my periods back, but they are still very unusual - very heavy bleeding. My hair is growing again, Yaaaaay. I want to be around people but I also don't want any sort of sympathy from them, it's cancer not a death sentence I mean. Am I the only one who feels this way?

And I keep asking myself what next? Now what?

You're certainly not the only one who feels this way, and you'll find lots of support and agreement among the members of this community. Just because your treatment has ended and you've recovered from your surgeries, doesn't mean there isn't more healing to do. A cancer diagnosis doesn't just affect your body, but your mental and emotional health as well! Give yourself time, not just to heal from the physical aspect of it, but to adjust to this new "normal" that you're living.
